Sample Media Documents

YOU know what you'd like to see printed in the paper, but how do you get the article you need and deserve? Communicating a clear, compelling message is a skill the Colorado Sprawl Action Center can help you with.

Sometimes, getting the publicity your fight deserves is as easy as sending reporters a press-release with a couple of pre-packaged quotes they can use. (For help with coming up with a clear, compelling message for your group, please see our workshop, "Message and the Media.") A compelling and simple message that can be easily understood must be the source from which all successful media efforts will flow. Once you've got that, however, take a look at some of the provided document examples, and start sending out regular notices and updates to all your local, state, and perhaps even national media outlets.
